B-Line
is proud to announce the arrival of a new Seismic Restraints catalog
(SRS-02).
The new book is a hefty 156 pages long, and has made great
strides towards simplifying the task of earthquake protection for
electrical and mechanical systems.
The
catalog contains new bracing charts that can be used for ALL ZONES and
building codes (BOCA, UBC, SBC, CBC, or IBC). It has changed to an
Allowable Stress Design (ASD) base, which has increased the systems
strength by 40% over our past system. The entire catalog has been
reviewed and stamped by a professional structural engineer registered in
the state of California, which is often required on job specifications.
In addition, the catalog has also been reviewed and stamped by
OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) for use as
a pre-approved system on hospital projects in the state of California.
The catalog contains
charts for seismic force levels ranging from .15g (ASD) to 1.0g (ASD).
From these tables, a contractor can select a spacing chart based
on the seismic force required by his local code or specification.
The catalog contains bracing details, anchorage to structure
details, spacing charts, code examples, and a website reference to
additional state stamps – allowing the contractor to install an
engineered system without the expense of hiring a professional engineer.
The new Seismic
Restraints catalog can be downloaded from B-Line's Product
