| B-Line first launched its
strut line as part of the Binkley Company in Wright City, Missouri and began operating on
its own as a separate company when it moved to Highland, Illinois, in 1969. This location
is now B-Line's corporate headquarters as well as a manufacturing facility for cable tray,
strut, and spring steel fasteners.
Conveniently located 30 minutes from downtown St. Louis, Missouri,
Highland is a charming town, rich with a Swiss heritage, that's celebrated in the town's
festivals, shops and architecture. Its community pride and small-town appeal make Highland
an excellent place to live and raise a family.
Highland's appeal extends beyond the town borders. It is conveniently
located near Carlyle Lake, the largest manmade lake in Illinois, as well as all of the
attractions of St. Louis: the famous Gateway Arch, the St. Louis Zoo, the Missouri
Botanical Garden, the Anheuser-Busch brewery, Busch Stadium (home of the
Cardinals), the SAVVIS Center (home of the Blues) and the Edward Jones Dome (home of the Rams). The
St. Louis area also offers fine museums, nightclubs, shopping centers and restaurants, as
well as a symphony orchestra and ballet, opera and theater companies.
As demand boosted production,
the Highland plant expanded four times; it now stands at 250,000 square feet. Down the
road in Troy, Illinois, B-Line opened a second plant to increase manufacturing capacity.
With its recent expansion, the Troy plant now has over 112,500 square feet of
manufacturing space. Employees at both plants work in a team-oriented, multi-skilled
environment. There are many opportunities to acquire new skills and a camaraderie that
carries over into family and community involvement.
Cooper B-Line also has a manufacturing location in Pinckneyville, Illinois that
manufactures, markets and delivers a continually expanding line of metal products and systems used in commercial and industrial construction worldwide. The 210,000 square foot facility is located just outside the city limits of Pinckneyville-- the county seat of Perry County--in southern Illinois.
Pinckneyville is located thirty minutes north of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Many of our employees live less than an hour from St. Louis and often visit the cultural, sports, dining, entertainment and shopping attractions in the metro area. Lakes dot our region and boating and fishing are popular as are gardening, "crafting", golf and hunting. Many of our employees enjoy the scenic and recreation opportunities in the Shawnee National Forest just south of Carbondale. Products manufactured here include Grip Strut®, a slip resistant metal walkway used in industry and transportation; GRATE-LOCK® Mezzanine Grating, an interlocking steel flooring panel; and FLEXTRAY®, a versatile telecommunication / datacommunications cable management system.
